Clean beauty brand REN is setting an example to other beauty brands with its latest UK pop-up.
The new Bicester Village space champions sustainability by using repurposed and recycled materials.
Inside, its counter and product display units have been created from recycled black plastic, which is notoriously hard to recycle, as it is less detectable by recycling scanners.
The store’s payment counter is constructed from a second hand art crate, while the outdoor timber has been repurposed from an old bingo hall and paper mill.
Its steelwork has also been salvaged from previous buildings and its wall displays are created from recycled card.
For the interior, REN has reused materials from its Wilderness festival pop-up and intends to use these for a third time at its Sweaty Betty Live event.
Customers will be able to visit the store until 18 October.
Earlier this year, Unilever-owned REN teamed up with global recycling firm TerraCycle to use post-consumer recycled plastic for its product packaging.
The brand now offers six of its best-selling products in refillable packaging, while its Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Cream is housed in plastic reclaimed from the ocean.
