Pantene has tapped a familiar face for its latest campaign, as actor John Stamos returns to the brand more than three decades on from their first collaboration.
The Procter & Gamble-owned hair care brand’s new video series, starring Full House and General Hospital’s Stamos, sees the actor going to increasingly elaborate lengths to prove his famously great hair is – and always has been – “Actually Pantene”.
The campaign came to life after Stamos reshared the original partnership from 1994 to his Instagram account in April 2026, which has resulted in the actor returning as the brand’s self-appointed ‘Ultimate Ambassador’.
The first episode of the video series premiered on 22 October, in which Stamos showed up at the Pantene offices in an effort to “reclaim my ambassador kind of thing”, with more set to follow over the coming weeks.
Pantene’s new campaign comes as a number of brands lean into a sense of nostalgia through their marketing, showing how original collaborations can be repurposed alongside new creative direction.
Fel Beauty revived Napoleon Dynamite in a new campaign with actor Jon Heder, while Lancôme went for a Y2K approach recently, tapping Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick for its Juicy Tubes lip glosses.
