MAC Cosmetics has becomes the first brand to try out the new technology

Following the flurry of brands tapping into the virtual beauty world, YouTube has become the latest platform allowing customers to try-on make-up products online.

Through the AR Beauty Try-On feature, its two billion users will now be able to virtually wear products before buying and get tips from YouTube creators.

MAC Cosmetics has become the first brand to use the new technology for its lipstick products.

According to the brand, it tested the experience earlier this year with several beauty brands and found that 30% of viewers activated the experience through its iOS app.

Meanwhile, customers were also found to spend more than 80 seconds using the technology.

Brands and vloggers can create the content through FameBit, Google’s in-house branded content platform.

However, the technology is still in the early stages of development.
