The luxury, Texas-based skin care brand has chosen its lip balm, moisturiser, hand cream, and toner cloth to be a part of the in-flight offer

Luxury skin care brand Sunday Riley will soon be found in the skies thanks to a deal with United Airlines.

The US beauty brand will be available as amenity kits to consumers on board United Airlines flights, in United Polaris lounges and United Club locations with shower facilities from the end of April.

Founded in 2009, Sunday Riley specialises in what it calls ‘green technology’, or science-based active ingredients with botanicals.

Sunday Riley, CEO and founder of the eponymous brand, said: “Being a part of the United experience gives us the opportunity to be with our customers wherever they go.

“We love being able to elevate the amenity offering and connect with an entirely new audience as they get to pamper themselves in the air.”

United's VP of Marketing, Mark Krolick, added: “Sunday and her team really took the time to understand how travel and the aircraft environment affects our customers and formulated an in-flight remedy that complements their journey with United from beginning to end.

“By elevating the skin care products offered on our planes and in our lounges, we can continue to lift the experience customers have when traveling with United."

Onboard amenities have grown from strength to strength within the beauty industry in recent years.

Birchbox and JetBlue, Kiehls and Delta One, and, most recently, Elemis and British Airways, are just some of the big name brands who have ventured into the marketing tactic.

A survey by prestige spa brand ESPA found that nearly 100% of consumers would consider using a skin care product during a flight, with the majority claiming that they would opt for a hand cream, moisturiser, lip treatment or facial mist.
