Designers Steve Gibbons, Jonathan Ford and Marc Rosen talk exclusively to SPC and share their thoughts on cosmetics packaging design today

“Everything in design changes, and everything stays the same. The mechanics of how we do our business have changed and continue to change. In the maelstrom of the media industry ‘the brand’ has become the one consistent touch point which has meant that the designer’s role has been in the ascendancy. We now find ourselves taking a lead and often more strategic role amongst our clients’ agencies. However the creative essence of what we do to solve clients’ problems remains as it always has – and it’s still 5% inspiration and 95% perspiration.”
