Packaging event to showcase innovations and reward environmental packaging

More than 7,500 visitors are expected at the packaging event Luxe Pack Monaco this year, with new talks and exhibitions also promised. Held from 21-23 October 2015, the event organisers expect to see many new products, with 75% of last year's exhibitors reporting a launch during the event.

Two roundtables at the event will address topics that are key for the packaging industry. 'Innovative Decoration, or the art of sublimating packaging', will discuss techniques by which the exclusivity of products can be communicated through packaging. 'Smart Luxe Pack or how to make smart packaging', will consider how novel digital technologies can be used to create a lasting relationship with consumers.

Two new award categories have been announced, recognising packaging solutions committed to the environment. The first category will recognise eco-friendly packaging and the second will reward internal sustainability initiatives conducted by the company.

In conjunction with the French National RFID Centre, the event will feature a Connect' Live section that aims to showcase RFID and NFC automatic data capture technology, and display the capabilities of connected packaging in tracking products and combatting counterfeiting.

Nathalie Grosdidier, General Director of Luxe Pack Monaco, said: "Luxe Pack needs unceasingly to mark itself out by its capacity to propose avant-garde solutions and explore new avenues for visitors who are always in search of exclusive and creative inspiration. It is with this objective in mind that we selected, for this new edition, several new exhibitors with extraordinary knowhow, and that we shall be focusing particularly on the underlying trends, such as the digital revolution, or techniques for differentiation through finishing or decoration, among others."
