Luxe Pack Shanghai has been postponed due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
The event was due to take place from 8-9 April at the Shanghai Exhibition Center but due to the prevalence and spread of the disease, which has so far claimed 2,620 lives globally, it has been postponed until 7-8 July.
The event organiser Indice stated: “This decision has been made on advice and information from government and local authorities in China and consultation with partners, venue and local team.
“The health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and staff is of the utmost importance and the first priority for organisers.
“Our sympathies at this time are with those affected in China, and all around the world.”

In December the cosmetics trade event issued a release to reveal that 85% of the exhibition floor had already been booked for the 2020 edition.
It predicted that more than 200 packaging specialists would be in attendance with confirmed exhibitors including Kurz Group, Foshan Huihong, Cloud Beauty Innovation Hub, Bakic Packaging and more.
Luxe Pack Shanghai's decision follows the postponement of cosmetics industry trade show PCHi, which was due to take place in Shanghai in February.
The coronavirus has reached what is widely being reported as a “pandemic tipping point”.
At the time of writing, there are currently 79,434 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 77,150 of these in Mainland China and 833 in South Korea, according to John Hopkins University.
