Harvey Nichols unveils beauty department with 'concierge'

Published: 26-Jul-2016

The concierge service is said to be the first of its kind in the UK

The Knightsbridge London flagship of Harvey Nichols has unveiled its new beauty and accessories department.

The ground floor of the store was remodelled over a ten month period to reflect a “more sophisticated and elegant interior akin to a luxury boutique”, according to the brand.

The 13,000sqft space features a dedicated area offering express beauty services including blow dries and manicures, called the Beauty Lounge.

Meanwhile a new Beauty Concierge is on offer to give consumers unbiased advice across a selection of edited brands; this service is said to be a UK first.

There are also a number of beauty treatment rooms for a rotating edit of services, and a pop-up space for installations from brands and immersive beauty experiences.

Another section, called Beyond Beauty, will stock iconic beauty brands in a celebration of the last 15 years of beauty.

In September, the store is due to unveil a new fragrance space that will stock more than 50 scents from niche, bespoke and global brands. Finally, in November the final phase of the ground floor re-opening will be completed with an edit of accessories, jewellery and sunglasses from global brands.

Stacey Cartwright, Group CEO of Harvey Nichols, said: "The ground floor at our flagship store is the portal to our brand, so we've set out to create an impactful and luxurious environment to welcome customers. We believe we have created an unrivalled destination for beauty in London offering the best edit of beauty and fragrance brands, both global and niche, driven by the highest level of customer service from our beauty advisors and concierge team."
