Beauty mogul and businesswoman Clare Horner has been appointed Beauty Director at world-renowned retailer Harvey Nichols.
In her new role, the former Harrods Beauty Buyer will lead and develop Harvey Nichols’ beauty and services strategy, as the retailer strives to become the first-choice destination for beauty shoppers.
Horner’s career in beauty spans more than 20 years, having served as Merchandise Manager of Beauty for World Duty Free and Sales Director of Kenneth Green Associates’ beauty division.
She also founded her own consultancy firm, Clare Horner & Co, working with brands and retailers to develop their business in the luxury beauty category.
Latterly, she served as Managing Director of subscription beauty box Latest in Beauty.
Taking up her role with immediate effect, she will report to Harvey Nichols’ newly appointed CEO, the company’s former COO, Manju Malhotra.
“We are delighted to welcome Clare to Harvey Nichols,” said Malhotra.
“Her unique experience makes her ideally positioned to spearhead beauty and further develop the category across both our online business and physical stores.”
Harvey Nichols has made a conscious effort in recent years to ramp up its in-store beauty experience.
Following the launch of its Beauty Lounge in 2016 and dedicated beauty and wellness floor in 2019, the retailer doubled the size of its Fragrance Room to make home for more than 100 perfume brands in 2020.
However, UK customers cannot take advantage of the destination’s in-store offering due to the current Covid-19 lockdown.
