Harvey Nichols has appointed former Alexander McQueen veteran Julia Goddard as its new CEO.
Goddard will lead the fashion and beauty retailer’s strategy from June, following the departure of Manju Malhotra, who stepped down last year after 25 years at the business.
She joins with 14 years of experience at designer brand Alexander McQueen, most recently as President of the EMEA region, where she is said to have driven growth in the wholesale, retail and e-concession channels.
With a focus on retail experience and the company’s ‘Very Important Customer’ (VIC) services, Goddard is also said to have spearheaded the launch of Alexander McQueen stores in key cities such as London, Paris, Milan, Rome and Dubai.
She previously held positions at fashion brands Juicy Couture, Aquascutum and Jasmine Di Milo.
“Julia is a dynamic business leader with a strong track record of delivering quality growth and successfully developing and executing a Very Important Customer clienteling strategy," said Sir Dickson Poon and Pearson Poon, Harvey Nichols’ Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
“Her expertise and strategic capabilities will be invaluable in delivering long-term sustainable growth for Harvey Nichols.”
Harvey Nichols is not the only retailer to shake up its leadership strategy recently.
Superdrug owner AS Watson named Malina Ngai as its new Group CEO, succeeding Dominic Lai who is stepping down after 17 years.
Meanwhile, health and beauty retailer Holland & Barrett recently reshuffled its team, including appointing a new UK and Ireland CEO Anthony Houghton as part of a wider strategy to streamline the business.
