Skin care staple CeraVe has refreshed its dedicated Baby line of products, featuring a new look and enhanced formulas to protect and care for little ones' delicate skin.
Developed in partnership with paedriatic dermatologists, the L'Oreal-owned brand's products are formulated to restore ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II, which are naturally found in infant skin and help to protect the skin barrier, seal in moisture and protect skin from irritants.
In addition, while a baby's skin is said to be around 30% thinner than that of an adult, the lockdown favourite skin care brand's research also suggests that using products containing ceramides may help prevent babies from developing skin issues such as atopic dermatitis later in life, according to CeraVe.
With this in mind, to offer families a simple way to care for their babies' skin, CeraVe has reformulated its Baby Wash & Shampoo to include vitamin E, featuring a tear-free formula designed to gently cleanse, soothe and moisturise without drying or disrupting the skin barrier.
Meanwhile, its Baby Moisturizing Cream and Baby Moisturizing Lotion features the brand's patented Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology, which releases ingredients slowly to allow them to absorb deeply into skin, and hyaluronic acid to help retain natural moisture and provide all-day hydration; while the Baby Healing Ointment helps to treat and prevent diaper rash and soothe babies' sensitive skin; and the Sunscreen Lotion SPF 45 provides broad spectrum protection from harmful UV rays.
"We understand the importance of gentle care and the desire for trusted products designed to meet the needs of delicate baby skin," said Jaclyn Marrone, Vice President of Marketing at CeraVe."As a dermatologist-developed brand committed to providing therapeutic skin care for all, including even the youngest skin, CeraVe created the Baby line with products that are not only free of harmful ingredients, but include the building blocks baby's developing skin needs, like ceramides, to ensure it has what it needs today in order to have the healthiest tomorrows."
All products in the line have been awarded the National Eczema Association's Seal of Acceptance, certifying that they are safe to use for even very sensitive baby skin, as well as being free of parabens, phthalates, fragrance and dyes.
