A trend today, a need tomorrow
Environmental factors such as cold weather, UV rays, air pollution, hot temperatures and high humidity drive cosmetic brands to provide products that help consumers adapt to extreme climate conditions. The future is in protection and solutions are needed to address the growing skin concerns of consumers by 2030.
Inspirational solutions focusing on expert ingredients
To help formulators create new formulas tailored for harsher climate environments, Seppic has developed a collection of six illustrative formulas focusing on skin care and make-up
products. Each formula contains appropriate Seppic ingredients that are proven to protect, strengthen or soothe the skin.
As an example, the formula “Urban Skin Screen” contains an O/W emulsifier Sensanov™ WR (C20-22 Alkyl Phosphate, C20-22 Alcohols) and a natural polymer SOLAGUM™ AX (Acacia Senegal, Xanthan Gum) that work in synergy to create a filmogenic protective screen at the surface of the skin with a barrier effect against pollution.
The formula “High Resistance Foundation” is a high coverage but non occlusive foundation adapted to hot & humid climate. It’s perfectly answering the needs of consumers living in a very hot and humid atmosphere: long-lasting, breathable and light make-up. This emulsion containing the emollient EMOGREEN™ HP 40 (C15-19 Alkane, Hydrogenated Polyfarnesene) and Sensanov™ WR (C20-22 Alkyl Phosphate, C20-22 Alcohols), allows to obtain a sebum resistance demonstrated with a test conducted with the U-Skin® methodology.
The demand for climate-adaptive products will increase. Cosmetic brands can prepare the future enhancing claims targeting skin issues due to specific environments such as acne, photo-aging or hyperpigmentation and adaption galenics to withstand climate conditions. Creating inspirational formulas collection to illustrate its proven-efficacy ingredients, Seppic continues to help formulators to find solutions.
