Seasoned executive Neela Montgomery is tasked with growing the two-year-old beauty company’s offering

Orveon Global, the owner of Laura Mercier and Bare Minerals, has appointed Neela Montgomery as its new CEO.

Effective 18 January, she will replace founding CEO Pascal Houdayer, who stepped down in November 2023.

Orveon was created by private equity firm Advent International in December 2021 when it purchased make-up brands Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier and Buxom from Japanese conglomerate Shiseido.

Montgomery will be responsible for growing these brands and accelerating the business.

“I see immense opportunity to continue developing the platform’s capabilities while nurturing the success of Bare Minerals, Buxom and Laura Mercier,” said Montgomery.

“To deliver an authentic, sustainable offering for consumers and retail partners alike.”

Montgomery is a seasoned executive, having worked as CEO of furniture retail company Crate & Barrel for five years.

She has also held senior leadership roles at pharmacy company CVS Health and UK supermarket giant Tesco.

Montgomery will also join Orveon’s Board of Directors.

Tricia Glynn, Chair of the Board and Managing Partner at Advent International, said Montgomery is the “ideal executive” for the job.

“Neela is a highly accomplished leader in high-growth, vibrant consumer businesses,” said Glynn.

“Neela, [with] her special mix of global experience, operational acumen and record of growing consumer brands, will position the business for long term success.”

Orveon is not the only beauty company to announce a leadership shake-up.
