L’Oréal has made two new leadership appointments to its American operations.
The French beauty giant has appointed David Greenberg to the newly created role of Chairman of L’Oréal USA.
Greenberg will work alongside the Maybelline-owner’s institutional stakeholders and is tasked with further driving the brand’s reputation in its largest global market
He has held a range of leadership roles across various divisions within the beauty giant, and most recently served as CEO of L’Oréal USA and President of North America.
“David’s transformative leadership as CEO of L’Oréal USA and President of North America has been truly exceptional, marked by outstanding business results, a keen eye for emerging trends and a passion for his people,” said Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal Group.
“This newly created role of Chairman of L’Oréal USA underscores the strategic importance of the US market for our future growth.”
Alexis Perakis-Valat will take Greenberg’s place as CEO of L’Oréal USA and President, North America.
Currently serving as President, Consumer Products Division, Perakis-Valat joined L’Oréal in 1994 and has held a number of key global leadership positions at the company.
He joined the Executive Committee in 2013 as President for Asia Pacific, while still managing the brand’s China operations.

“Since 2016, his vision and drive have fundamentally reshaped our Consumer Products Division, democratising beauty, accelerating growth and igniting double-digit acceleration in Emerging Markets.
“His unwavering commitment to brand equity, innovation, and sales and marketing excellence makes him the perfect choice to lead the L’Oréal USA and North America business to new heights.
Both appointments will become effective on 1 January 2026, with handovers starting sequentially from 1 October 2025.
