The Société Française de Cosmétologie (SFC), in partnership with L'Oréal Research & Innovation, has announced the third edition of its Sustainability Challenge.

It is set to take place on 16 September 2025 during the 35th International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) Congress in Cannes, France.

The competition invites start-ups and academics to submit innovative, sustainable solutions that address pressing challenges within the cosmetics industry.

The aim is to encourage the development of new technologies and practices that can help the sector move towards greater sustainability.

The eight finalists selected for the challenge will be given the opportunity to present their ideas to a global audience of industry leaders, researchers and investors during the IFSCC Congress.

The winner of the challenge will receive a one-year membership to the SFC, which includes access to the IFSCC website and additional promotion on IFSCC social media channels.

The prize also includes a ticket to the IFSCC Congress 2026 in Australia, providing the winner with further visibility within the global cosmetics and cosmetic science communities.

This competition is said to offer a unique opportunity for emerging innovators to connect with key stakeholders in the cosmetics industry, from global brands to suppliers and researchers, all while advancing sustainable practices in beauty and personal care.
