Interparfums’ French subsidiary has obtained the fragrance and cosmetic brand names, plus registered trademarks, of luxury streetwear brand Off-White.
Interparfums SA, a 72%-owned subsidiary of New York-based Interparfums Inc, said it would work with Off-White to build a long-term relationship.
This would encompass strategies, category launches and market initiatives.
Interparfums’ Chairman and CEO Jean Madar commented: “Off-White blends the worlds of streetwear and luxury in a spirit of talent and inventiveness.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for us considering the brand’s unique positioning, not to mention Virgil Abloh’s impressive creative legacy.
“This brand will help us explore new openings for fragrances in the luxury sector.”
The deal is subject to an existing licence that expires on 31 December 2025.
Off-White was founded in 2012 by Abloh – the late American designer and entrepreneur – and initially named Pyrex Vision.
It is known for its deconstructionist aesthetic and recurring brand symbols, such as crossed arrows and the ‘x’ logo.
The brand’s current beauty line-up features fragrances, nail polishes, face & body crayons, stickers and stencils.
Earlier this year, French luxury giant LVMH sold Off-White LLC, the owner of the Off-White brand, to New York-based brand management company Bluestar Alliance.
Interparfums’ Off-White beauty purchase follows news that it will launch a private-label perfume collection next year.
Named Solférino, the brand will comprise ten niche fragrances.
