For many consumers, peeling off a seal or removing a disc for the first time from a newly purchased jar of skin cream is an integral part of that initial user experience.

“The use of a disc or shive gives reassurance to the consumer that the jar and product have not been tampered with, with the added benefit of the improved seal during transportation,” explains Christelle Godefroit, Product Manager at HCP Packaging.
