Glossier is shutting down nine stores from its 12-strong portfolio as part of a new strategic overhaul implemented by recently appointed CEO Colin Walsh.

The US beauty company will shutter the stores over the next two-and-a-half years, with only the London, UK; New York, US; and Los Angeles, US, flagships remaining open.

This new strategy will also see the ‘millennial pink’ brand trim its product line-up to focus more on hero products and fragrances, such as its Glossier You eau de parfum.

Glossier confirmed the news of the store closures to Cosmetics Business, with a spokesperson commenting: "The news shared... is correct. We do not have any further statements to share".
