Glossier is opening its first retail store in the Midwest this week as it continues to grow its bricks-and-mortar presence in the US.
The millennial-pink brand’s new Chicago shop opens on 14 April and is said to draw inspiration from the city’s architectural roots.
Based on Rush Street, it features brick arches made using clay from the city’s river and an installation that pays homage to the Chicago Cultural Center’s domed roof.
Exclusive Chicago store merch will also be available, including a turquoise bucket hat in a shade the brand has dubbed ‘Park’.
A larger-than-life 13ft Glossier You perfume statue has also been placed in Millennium Park to mark the launch.
“Chicago is our first retail location in the Midwest and our eleventh store overall,” Glossier CEO Kyle Leahy posted on LinkedIn.
“We cannot wait for you to see this special space.”
Glossier had previously hosted a successful pop-up in Chicago back in 2018.
The launch comes hot off the heels of the brand opening its revamped 7,000sqft flagship in New York last month.
This is part of the beauty brand’s plans to expand its US branded retail stores over the past year, having opened new outlets in Washington, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
Glossier also recently shook up its C-suite with new appointments to help the business in its next stage of expansion.
Marie Suter, Chitra Balireddi and Kleona Mack have all taken on new leadership positions in the company.
Glossier has been undergoing operational restructuring since former CEO Emily Weiss departed in 2022.
