Glossier has appointed Colin Walsh its new CEO, effective October.
Walsh, a former CEO for the beauty divisions of Ouai and Procter & Gamble, will join the millennial-pink beauty company to steer its vision.
The beauty industry veteran said he is keen to join the brand built on community, conversation and culture that has “redefined what beauty can mean”.
“As I step into this next chapter, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to partner with [founder] Emily Weiss, the Glossier team, and the board to build on that foundation and to help shape the future of this remarkable brand,” Walsh wrote in a LinkedIn post announcing his appointment.
“Most of all, I am looking forward to learning from the team, amplifying the magic that is already here, and working together to make Glossier a true legacy brand.”
Walsh’s appintment follows Glossier CEO Kyle Leahy announcing plans to step down from the role earlier this year.
Leahy, who has helmed the beauty brand for three years, announced her departure on 24 June via a company-wide email to staff.
“[Walsh] brings deep beauty expertise across categories and stages of companies, and I am confident he is the right person to lead Glossier into its next chapter,” Leahy wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“Colin is devoted to the customer and leads with heart.
“He cares deeply about this incredibly special brand and, equally importantly, the people building it.”
Leahy took over as CEO after Weiss left her role as CEO in 2022.
Weiss established the digital native brand in 2014 and has steered it to become a billion-dollar business.
