L'Oréal Paris has confirmed Elle Fanning as its new ambassador ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, of which it is the official sponsor.
Earlier this month, the cosmetics giant said it would be revealing which internationally renowned actress would join its team. The news comes as part of the brand celebrating a two decade partnership with France’s best-known film festival.
Fanning took to Instagram to reveal the news.
“I can FINALLY let you all in on the mega SURPRISE!!!! I am officially a #lorealista !!!!! Thank you @lorealmakeup for welcoming me into your EMPOWERING and FABULOUS family!!! I am beyond proud to represent a company that celebrates WOMEN!!! BECAUSE WE ARE ALL #WORTHIT #lorealparis,” she said.
The 19-year-old, will make her debut for the brand at the Cannes Film Festival, where she also stars in Sofia Coppola's in-competition movie The Beguiled.
She will join L'Oréal Paris’ other brand ambassadors on the red carpet to walk the steps to the Palais des Festivals.
Eva Longoria, Maria Borges, Lara Stone, Thylane Blondeau and Barbara Palvin are expected to attend this year.
Summer celebrations
To celebrate the 20 year partnership, the brand will also open a pop-up make-up store on the Croisette strip in Cannes.
Festival fans will be able to receive makeovers and try new products, including a special edition Color Riche lipstick designed for the 20th anniversary, which will also go on sale during the Cannes Film Festival.
The bullet of this new limited edition is engraved with 20 Years and a Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) symbolising the festival’s main prize.
The 70th Cannes Film Festival will be held from 17-28 May.
