Dr. Barbara Sturm built the foundation of her eponymous skin care business on dependability, with a robust collection of products that have remained as good as the day they launched.

It is a hallmark of the brand approaching its 25th anniversary, but what happens when its founder, a German doctor and aesthetics expert, decides to break all the rules and shake-up one of its hero products with an upgraded twist?

Enter the reformulated Super Anti-Aging Serum (€330), an advanced formulation the brand claims is “supercharged” with two new ingredients – Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and sunflower sprout extract – that costs the same as its previous version.

Although reformulated hero products are becoming more regular in the beauty industry in 2026, overhauling a customer favourite will never be without trepidation.
