Coty has signed a long-term agreement to create perfumes for luxury jewellery brand Swarovski’s recently relaunched fragrance division.

The owner of Kylie Cosmetics and CoverGirl said the deal aims to “elevate and diversify its portfolio” by bringing “new products, brands and innovations to the forefront”.

Coty’s first offering under this licensing agreement is expected to launch in 2026.

“Swarovski has garnered significant recognition among global consumers, making it an ideal fit for a worldwide roll out across key markets such as EMEA, the Americas and Asia,” said Jean Holtzmann, Coty Chief Brands Officer Prestige.

“This licensing agreement aligns with Coty’s successful strategy of focusing on licenses with multi-category potential.”

Swarovksi first broke into the fragrance category in 2010 with the Aura perfume collection, created by Clarins Fragrance Group.

The business, which specialises in crystal jewellery, launched a follow-up, Aura Love, in 2012.

“Partnering with Coty is a significant step for Swarovski as we continue to expand our brand into new product categories,” added Michele Molon, Swarovski Chief Commercial Officer.

“This partnership allows us to bring Swarovski’s unique positioning of Pop Luxury – a luxury that is creative, fun, colourful and joyfully extravagant – to the world of beauty and fragrances, whilst leveraging Coty's extensive industry expertise.”

Coty has been expanding its prestige fragrance category in 2024 with numerous long-term beauty licences.

This includes a deal with Italian fashion brand Marni in February, with Coty working on fragrance and beauty skus inspired by the house’s approach to materials and colours.

The beauty giant will develop and distribute all of the fragrance and home scents for luxury Italian fashion house Etro in an agreement that will run “beyond 2040”.

It also renewed its fragrance licence agreements with Dutch fashion label Mexx and German underwear brand Bruno Banani by 25 and 20 years respectively.

Coty’s Prestige fragrance category, which includes Marc Jacobs Daisy, Hugo Boss’ Boss Bottled and Burberry Goddess, bolstered the business’ sales in Q1 2025.

Prestige Fragrance grew 6% during the quarter and fueled a net revenue increase of 2% on a reported basis to US$1.67bn.

Income was reported as $79.6m, compared to a net loss of $1.7m in the prior year.
