Charlotte Tilbury is ramping up its perfume offering with a new fragrance collection.
The scents for the range have been designed to evoke and represent a range of emotions, including feelings of joy, love and calm.
The perfumes were created in collaboration with IFF perfumers Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Juliete Karagueuzoglou.
Celine Manetta, a neuroscientist, psychologist and Senior Consumer Science Manager at IFF, also assisted the brand in accurately capturing the emotions tied to each perfume.
“Since the very beginning, Charlotte wanted to have a real impact on emotions, she wanted to go further than aromatherapy,” said Manetta.
“And at IFF, we have been studying the invisible power of ingredients on the brain for more than 40 years and we are able, thanks to neurosciences, to prove it scientifically.”
This involved the use of IFF’s ‘Centcubetm Algorithm’, an AI algorithm that identifies potent ingredient and scent combinations.
“We then use Artificial Intelligence with an IFF proprietary tool called ScentIntelligence that analyses all this data and gives perfumers innovative ingredient combinations known to enhance specific emotions,” Manetta added.
“It creates a specific palette of ingredients so they can compose with it.”
The new perfume collection follows on from Charlotte Tilbury’s original fragrance debut in 2016, when the brand launched Scent of a Dream.
This was prior to Puig’s acquisition of the businesses in 2020, with the beauty conglomerate being best known for its fragrance offering.
The range includes Love Frequency, which is said to have prominent floral and woody notes that have been combined with pink pepper.
This has been set against a heart of saffron and a blend of rose oils, and is rounded off with musk, cashmere wood and patchouli.
Cosmic Power, meanwhile, offers spicier scent notes brought forward with a blend of black pepper, cinnamon bark and bergamot oils.
The base features amber accord, vanilla bean extract and powdery musks.
Also included in the collection is Calm Bliss, which was focused on creating a more aquatic and floral-inspired scent palette.
Bergamot, neroli and lavender oils feature in the formulation, which have been combined with a heart of orange flower absolute and watery accord.
These have been set against a base of tonka bean accord, pure white musks and orris concrete.

“A fragrance can transport you to another world full of memories, fantasies and dreams, it can transform the way you feel and it can create a magical aura around you.”
