Chanel’s President of Fragrance and Beauty Anne Kirby is retiring at the end of 2024.
Kirby is stepping down from the role after five years.
The executive has been attributed to strengthening the luxury house’s Fragrance and Beauty division during her tenure via global reach.
Chanel reported sales of nearly US$20bn last year, with its Fragrance and Beauty division said to have experienced “very strong growth” across all categories.
Kirby was also behind the launch of the Comètes Collective in October 2022 – an initiative aimed at reinvigorating and diversifying Chanel’s make-up division.
“Under [Kirby’s] leadership, the Fragrance and Beauty business has achieved strong business performance,” Chanel said in a statement, reported by WWD.

“All of these activities have strengthened Chanel’s brand equity and built further desirability among new and existing customers.”
Prior to her position as President of Fragrance and Beauty, Kirby worked at Chanel-owned lingerie brand Eres as Directeur Général from 2015 to 2018.
She held the same position at Bourjois from 2007 to 2015, before Chanel sold the brand to Coty in 2015.
Chanel has not announced Kirby’s successor.
This shake-up follows the recent departure of Chanel’s Artistic Director Virginie Viard and the appointment of Fabrice Raoul as MD of Chanel SAS.
