Beautycounter has sold more than 1 million skin care and cosmetic products since its launch in 2013.
Sales at the US-based company have increased 325% year on year since Q1 2014. Direct sales and e-commerce are two of the brands main sources of growth, with more than 8,600 consultants selling Beautycounter products in the US – an increase of 252% in the past year. It now hopes to reach two million sales by the end of 2015.
The company produces cosmetics without using any ingredients linked to health concerns such as BPA, phthalates, formaldehyde, synthetic colours and BHA. Only 11 similar chemicals are currently banned from skin care products in the USA, while the European Union restricts or forbids the use of more than 1,300 ingredients.
