Arysta Health & Nutrition Sciences (AH&NS) has become the first Asia-owned company to win gold at the in-cosmetics Asia Innovation Zone Best Ingredient award. The Tokyo-based supplier was honoured for its Aquatide ingredient in the active ingredients category. An expert judging panel called it "an innovative ingredient based on natural skin amino acids and NMF"; Aquatide is claimed to address modern symptoms of urban and psychological stresses to the skin.
In the actives category, IFF-Lucas Meyer won silver for Defenscalp, while Rahn was presented with bronze for its Liftonin-Xpert active.
Seppic Asia, meanwhile, won gold in the actives category with Emogreen, a biodegradable and sustainable solution for the creation of "light and silicone-like textures". Silver went to ElfaMoist from AkzoNobel and bronze to Evonik's Tego Solve 55.
Winners were selected by a panel comprising independent industry consultant Dr Jack Ferguson; Belinda Carli, Director of the Institute of Personal Care; the owner of the Forest Skincare Essentials brand, Barbara Olioso; and Coty's head of scientific communication for skincare, Muriel Pujos.
in-cosmetics Asia 2016 runs from 8-10 November at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand. Winners were announced during the event on 9 November.
