South African men spent US$564.2m on grooming products during 2016, as this relatively new market segment benefits from a surge in interest in skin care products.
Data released by research group Euromonitor International reveals that fragrances dominate the market, accounting for $306.79m, followed by toiletries, with $191.45m, and the shaving market, valued at $66.72m.
The market researcher’s Men’s Grooming in South Africa report, released in April 2016 notes that the segment achieved an 8% retail volume compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in 2015.
Meanwhile, this year, across the continent, African men are expected to spend
