Wella company CEO Annie Young-Scrivner resigns

The board has appointed Glenn K Murphy as the new Executive Chair to oversee the company

The CEO and Board Director of Wella Company, Annie Young-Scrivner, has resigned.

In a statement, Wella confirmed the resignation of Young-Scrivner and announced that current Board Chair Glenn K Murphy has been appointed by the Board to oversee the company as Executive Chair.

Wella cited family matters as the reason for Young-Scrivner’s departure.

Murphy has been a member of the board for two years and the company says he brings a proven track record of deep experience and will be a transformational leader.

Murphy has previously been the CEO and Executive Chair of Shoppers Drug Mart and Gap Inc.

Murphy said: “This is a pivotal time in Wella Company’s evolution, and I am excited to oversee the work of the team as we elevate the business to new levels of performance and success.” 

He added: “In Annie’s four years as Wella Company’s CEO, she helped establish a solid foundation for future growth. 

“We thank her for her many contributions and wish her all the best.”

Wella Company’s brand roster includes beauty brands O·P·I, ghd, Clairol and its namesake brand Wella Professionals.
