Bodycare has appointed Charles Denton CEO and Executive Chairman as the retailer plots its comeback.
Denton, the former CEO of The Body Shop and Molton Brown, last year led a group of investors to rescue the UK value beauty retailer from administration.

The seasoned beauty executive will work alongside Bodycare’s Managing Director David Stern, and will lead the strategic direction of the business as it looks to expand in the UK and internationally.
This will include the roll out of its new generation of Studio Stores, which feature content creator areas with free-to-use equipment, as well as franchise opportunities outside the UK.
Denton will also develop strategic partnerships with consumer brands, and oversee the development of Bodycare’s proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) operating platform.
This is “designed to transform how modern retailers understand customers, manage operations and create value,” the company said in a statement.
“Bodycare represents a remarkable opportunity to redefine what value retail can become,” said Denton.
“Today’s customer is smarter than ever. They want exceptional value, but they also expect discovery, inspiration and experiences that make shopping enjoyable again.
“Our ambition is to build a business around that smart customer.
“We are creating stores that are destinations – places where people can discover exciting products, learn from experts, engage with their local community, and enjoy an experience that goes far beyond simply buying health and beauty products.
“Retail is changing rapidly, and while technology will undoubtedly play an increasingly important role, we firmly believe the future belongs to businesses that successfully combine innovation with genuine human connection.”
Further appointments to Bodycare’s leadership team include Tash Courtenay-Smith, a beauty industry advisor, experienced CFO Alison Costello, and Ryan Newey, founder and CCO of creative agency Fold7.
Bodycare is returning to the UK high street with the first of its new-look stores set to open in Sheffield, with a “unique reinvented, community-first and creator-led format,” the company statement said.
Further openings in 2026 will include Leicester, Derby and Bradford, with 17 locations announced so far.
