As climate change accelerates and global temperatures rise, we are seeing an increased emphasis on how heat affects not just the planet but also our skin. 

Heat ageing is the process in which prolonged exposure to high temperatures, such as infrared (IR) and UV radiation, as well as environmental pollutants, accelerates skin damage. 

And it is becoming a growing concern for dermatologists, skin care experts and consumers alike. 

“It is not just about preventing sunburn anymore,” said Dr Bob Bianchini, VP of Technology and Innovation at Dermalogica.
