TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2016, an event for professionals in the travel retail and duty-free sectors, saw a record number of attendees in its 21st year.
The number of visitors grew to 2,905 up 12% on 2015. Attendees from 1,186 countries – up 14% – came to the event, held in Singapore from 8-12 May. Of this number, 1081 were key buyers and 1,293 were agents, both figures up on 2015’s event. The exhibition grew in floor-size too; this year it occupied 9,817sqm of floorspace, up 6.1% on last year. In total, 310 companies exhibited, up 9% on the previous year.
“This has been a busy week and the atmosphere on the exhibition floor has been exceptional,” continued Juul-Mortensen. “In spite of the challenges we are all facing, there has been a real spirit of optimism here this week. This definitely bodes well for our industry both in Asia Pacific and across the world.”
