AS Watson has appointed Malina Ngai as its Group CEO.
Ngai, who is currently Group Chief Operating Officer of AS Watson and CEO of AS Watson Asia & Europe, will take the reins from 1 May.
Based in Hong Kong, AS Watson’s portfolio includes international beauty retail chains Watsons, Rossmann and Superdrug.
Ngai succeeds Dominic Lai, Group Co-Managing Director of CK Hutchison and Group Managing Director of AS Watson, who is stepping down after 17 years.
“Malina has been crucial in successfully driving AS Watson’s digital transformation, implementing the O+O (offline plus online) business model, and fostering positive cultural change in the past decade,” commented Lai.
Lai will assume the position of Chairman of AS Watson.
Ngai’s 24-year career with CK Hutchison and AS Watson began in corporate communications, later expanding to international management positions in international buying, technology development, sales operations, marketing, big data and sustainability.
“As the Group CEO of AS Watson, Malina will be fully in charge of defining our vision, leading the team to formulate strategies to meet our strategic objectives of putting customers first and continuing the growth journey of our global portfolio,” Lai added.
