Smashbox is moving into the lucrative beauty merchandise market with its first-ever fashion venture.

Smashbox follows in the footsteps of Milk Makeup, which has dabbled in lifestyle-focused cross-brand collaborations in a bid to better serve its community.

The brand unveiled the second series of its Equipment Essentials Collection with sportswear giant Reebok in February.

e.l.f. Beauty has also partnered with fashion brand American Eagle on a denim-inspired make-up collection.

The brand has even jumped on this year’s Stanley cup craze with a limited edition range with the drinkware brand.

The Smashbox x Ilka bag collection is priced from 2,450 Mexican pesos.

"Smashbox has always used its platform to spotlight emerging talent across fashion, art and music,” said Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox's Global Pro Lead Artist.

“We are always looking for opportunities to highlight local talent in the regions where Smashbox is present."

Smashbox Cosmetics first fashion collaboration began after brand leaders Felix Backhaus and Lauren Aja visited Mexico City.

"We were inspired by the creativity we encountered… and saw an opportunity to collaborate with local talent," said Aja.

“This collaboration is about more than just handbags – at Smashbox, we celebrate beauty and innovation in all forms."

The collection is available in-store and online at Ilka while stocks last.
