The US company will use its investment to boost the Nordic skin care brand’s awareness and distribution reach

Skyn Iceland has been bought by beauty products distributor Amerikas.

The US company’s investment branch has acquired the ‘clean’ skin care brand from a group of French and Swiss investors for an undisclosed sum.

Amerikas will use its distribution and brand acceleration experience to grow the Nordic beauty business.

Sarah Kugelman founded Skyn Iceland in 2003, using fruits, plants and mineral water from Iceland in its natural skin care formulations.

In 2022, entrepreneur Antoine de Larocque acquired the company with the support of investor Jacques Veyrat via his holding company Impala.

“This new chapter in the development of Skyn Iceland will see the brand returning to its original Nordic beauty positioning,” Amerikas and Skyn Iceland said in a joint statement.

"It is fully supported by the current management and Kugelman."

Amerikas transaction was advised by Palix Unlimited, the boutique M&A office of Joël Palix, and Olivier Dupont, founder of Olivier Dupont Law Office.

“Palix Unlimited facilitated the acquisition of Skyn Iceland by Amerikas, a prominent skin care brand distributor in the US market,” Palix posted on LinkedIn.

“Amerikas… is a fast-growing beauty business specialising in omnichannel distribution across various retail platforms.”

These include beauty retailers, pharmacies, department stores and online channels like Amazon, TikTok Shop and Shopify.
