Diarrha N'Diaye-Mbaye’s appointment to Kardashian’s upcoming beauty vertical follows the closure of her inclusive beauty brand in July 2025

Ami Colé founder Diarrha N'Diaye-Mbaye is joining Kim Kardashian’s fashion brand Skims as the brand looks to grow its beauty offering.

N'Diaye-Mbaye, a brand founder and beauty veteran with more than 15 years of experience in the industry, will head up the entrepreneur’s new beauty vertical.

Kardashian confirmed the beauty line’s release during the Call Her Daddy podcast on 15 October, with the collection set to include lip liners and fragrance products.

Skims’ reignited beauty offering was kicked off with a brand collaboration with hair brush brand Tangle Teezer in October.

N'Diaye-Mbaye said her “commitment to an inclusive beauty industry runs deep” in a LinkedIn post announcing the news.

She wrote in the post: “I am so thrilled to be joining Skims to stand up their anticipated Beauty and Fragrance vertical.

“For the past 15 years I spent countless hours listening to the beauty exchange on salon floors, selling fragrance at my local Sephora, working corporate and most recently building Ami Colé brick by brick – I am simply obsessed.

“Together with Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede we are committed to creating a magical beauty experience for every single body.

N'Diaye-Mbaye’s appointment follows the closure of her inclusive beauty brand in July 2025 – citing financial challenges for its shuttering.

Created in 2021 as a ‘clean’ beauty brand for women of colour, Ami Colé was backed by L’Oréal and stocked by retailer Sephora in the US and Canada.

It was best known for its skin tints and lip oils, and landed investment from L’Oréal’s venture capital arm BOLD at the end of last year

Speaking on the closure of Ami Colé, N'Diaye-Mbaye added in the LinkedIn post: “It is important to share that it is okay to dust yourself off and try again.

“Listen to your gut, let your intuition drive, and let go of the idea of the perfect blueprint.

“It is an honour to bring that product and community obsession to the global stage where the sky truly is the limit and inclusivity is simply table stakes.”

In March, Karshadian’s shapewear company Skims acquired the entrepreneur’s skin care and make-up label SKKN by Kim from Coty as part of a larger brand consolidation.

It bought Coty’s 20% minority stake as well as Kardashian’s 80% majority stake, so the reality star’s clothing, cosmetics, skin care and fragrance businesses could be under one umbrella.

In June, Kardashian shut down SKKN by Kim as part of this consolidation, just three years after launching, paving the way for Skims Beauty.

SKKN by Kim was founded in 2022 following the closure of Kardashian’s cosmetics and fragrance lines KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
