Shiseido CEO Kentaro Fujiwara’s pay has been revealed.
Fujiwara became CEO of the Japanese cosmetics company in January 2025.
Recently published documents disclosing the Nars and Drunk Elephant owner’s financial performance last year show Fujiwara’s remuneration.
In total, Shiseido’s top executive Fujiwara earned US$2.2m in 2025.
Of that amount, $887,000 was in cash, and that was made up of basic pay ($453,000) and an annual incentive ($434,000), which is based on performance.
Fujiwara, who has worked at Shiseido since 1991 in a number of roles, also earned $1.34m in stock compensation as part of the company’s long-term incentive plan.
This is in stark contrast to what L'Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus took home as a salary in 2025.
In February, Shiseido reported a 22% rise in core operating profit in 2025 to ¥44.5bn.
Shares in the Clé de Peau Beauté owner soared as much as 15% after the earnings beat analysts' estimates and the company forecasted a positive 2026.
The beauty conglomerate has undergone a number of changes in recent years, including merging its travel retail and China operations.
The move was part of the group’s broader transformation plan to revive flagging sales.
This is centred around three objectives – reinforcing the brand’s foundation, rebuilding its profitability and enhancing operational governance.
In December, Shiseido unveiled plans to shake up its leadership structure in 2026, along with a series of company-wide organisational changes.
The group has also embarked on a turnaround plan for Drunk Elephant.
