Schwarzkopf is the latest brand to team up with Barbie to launch a pop-up salon event in Los Angeles, US.
The one-day event on 21 October at LA’s Westfield Century City shopping mall, the Travel In Style salon will bring visitors hair treatments using the Henkel-owned brand’s BlondMe range.
Promising to take visitors on a “journey to travel and explore their style”, shoppers will be able to receive hair styling services at travel-themed salon stations.
Consumers will also have the chance to win prizes including hair styling experiences, limited edition Barbie-themed hair products and BlondMe hair care products.
Meanwhile, the pop-up features travel destination photo areas for visitors to capture and share their experiences, while the brand also promises “more surprises and fun moments”.
The pop-up comes after Schwarzkopf launched two limited edition Barbie-themed professional beauty kits – BlondMe x Barbie Dream Salon Kit and BlondMe x Barbie Apron Kit – in August.
Featuring Barbie-themed hair colouring products, application tools and protective gear and housed in limited edition packaging, the kits are designed to make the blonde hair colouring process easier for professionals, according to the brand.
Salons have seen an 83% year on year increase in bookings for Barbie-inspired treatments such as platinum blonde hair colouring, according to data from beauty marketplace service Fresha.
Schwarzkopf also follows Lush and NYX in launching Barbie-themed pop-ups to promote their collaborations with the iconic doll and hit movie.
