S. Black joins Azelis and broadens its horizons

Independent ingredients supplier S. Black Ltd has become part of the Azelis Group. S. Black has facilities in the UK and Germany but says being part of Azelis will give it stronger representation while providing Azelis with greater technical knowledge of the European personal care, health care and food sectors.

Black’s reputation and identity intact, whilst providing the platform for increased geographic growth, and the benefits of being part of a pan-European organisation,” comments Neil Berry, md of S. Azelis ceo, Udo Wenzel adds: “This will further enhance our already strong position in the Life Sciences area which will also benefit from of a number of additional planned acquisitions in the next 12 months.”

Formed in 2001, Azelis is a major European distributor of speciality chemicals, polymers and related services and has grown both organically and through acquisition. The company currently comprises 33 companies, operates in 22 European countries and has an office in Shanghai. In addition to personal care, sectors covered include pharmaceuticals, food & health, animal nutrition, plastics, composites, rubber and coatings.

S. Black will retain its name and identity and all management and staff are to remain with the company.
