Ren Clean Skincare may be no more, following its closure by Unilever in May 2025, but its legacy lives on as the inspiration for Pai Skincare’s most recent launch.

Bright Now, a new PHA daily tonic, has been developed by Pai Skincare after UK supermarket Marks & Spencer approached the brand and asked it to create a gentler alternative to Ren Clean Skincare’s (now discontinued) cult product, Ready Steady Glow daily AHA tonic.

The Courtin-Clarins-owned brand claims Bright Now delivers similar brightening results to Ren Clean Skincare’s Ready Steady Glow, but is specifically formulated for sensitive and reactive skin.

However, Pai Skincare founder Sarah Brown has not shied away from being open about the latest launch's inspiration, and openly credits Ren Clean Skincare as the “benchmark” while she was building her own brand – launched in 2007.

“You do not often hear about the stories behind why products come to life,” Brown told Cosmetics Business.
