British beauty company Ren Clean Skincare has revealed the last date you can buy its products from its official website.
The site closure announcement comes after parent company Unilever said last month that it had made the “difficult decision” to shutter the pioneering ‘clean’ skin care business.
Ren Clean Skincare has revealed the last time consumers can buy products from its official website on Instagram, sharing the date and a heartfelt message alongside an image which said: ‘We have some news…’.
“News for our fRENds ♥︎ You can still shop with us over at renskincare.com until 31 July 2025,” read the brand’s caption.
“After 25 incredible years we will soon be closing our doors.
“Born in London in 2000, we have been proud to put ‘clean’ skin care on the agenda, creating positive change for our people and planet.
“We thank you, our community, for your support over the years”.
The post has garnered an outcry from fans sad to see the 25-year-old British beauty brand go.
User Melissa’s Wardrobe (@melissaswardrobe) commented: “🥹 I appreciate all you’ve done for me! What an amazing journey.”
Meanwhile, skin care creator Janell (@theskincarequeen_) posted: “Wow. The Glow tonic changed my entire life 😭”
Unilever cited a “a combination of internal factors, compounded by market challenges in recent years” behind its decision, which it said “has left the brand unable to sustain success in the long term”.
The statement continued: “We are proud of the REN [Clean Skincare] team for all they have accomplished during 25 years of business, putting ‘clean’ skin care on the agenda and creating positive change for both people and planet and thank them as they continue to support us through this closure.”
Unilever said REN Clean Skincare would cease trading by the end of the third quarter of 2025, but had not given an exact date when it issued this statement in May.
The beauty brand’s closure news shocked the industry, with many people asking what really went wrong at REN Clean Skincare.
REN Clean Skincare was founded by Rob Calcraft and Antony Buck and was ahead of the curve when it came to so-called ‘clean’ beauty.
The brand soon became known for its cult Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner and Evercalm range.
Ren Clean Skincare was then acquired in 2015 by beauty giant Unilever, joining its Prestige Brands division.
