Paco Rabanne, the Puig-owned fragrance brand, is celebrating UK music talent as it launches the second year of its funding programme for up-and-coming artists.
The Phantom scent maker's A Million Ways to Make It programme is offering three finalists a £5,000 grant as well as mentorship from music industry experts, offering advice on support on areas including music production, live shows, marketing and more.
Aiming to uplift artists who reflect the UK's rich sonic heritage, with no limitations on genre or style, finalists will also have the opportunity to perform at live events throughout 2023 as well as hosting radio shows on music discovery platform NTS, which is partnering with Puig on the campaign.
“Paco Rabanne has built a strong reputation over the past year for helping exciting rising artists to access the resources and support they need to take their careers to the next level,” said Celine Gilg, Managing Director, at Puig UK.
“It is so exhilarating to see the myriad talent coming through yet again as the Paco Rabanne Fund celebrates its second year.
“After the success of last year’s fund, we were keen to develop its offering to include practical mentoring from established industry professionals.”
Making beautiful music
Earlier this year, Paco Rabanne showcased the recipients of its 2021 fund with a series of free concerts and radio shows across London, UK, featuring a diverse range of UK musicians and DJs.
They included Harleighblu, a Nottingham-based singer-songwriter whose music is described as a fusion of soul, hip-hop and jazz; French-Sengalese artist Anaiis, who sings in multiple languages with themes of self-reflection, solace and empowerment; and Mom Tudie, a South London-based producer with jazz and R&B influences who is said to blur the line between electronic production and live music.
Gilg added: “This year we received some fantastic feedback telling us how Puig through Paco Rabanne has helped artists’ musical journeys 'really take off’, with one singer telling us that the initiative has ‘literally changed the course of my career’.
“So, I’d say watch this space – the Paco Rabanne Fund is set to change the UK music scene for good!”
Applications for the 2022-23 fund are opening this month for artists over the age of 18 who are based in the UK.
