The Japanese flavours and fragrances company has donated supplies to those affected by Cyclone Enawo

Takasago, the flavours and fragrances company based in Japan, has donated food and relief items to those affected by Cyclone Enawo in Madagascar.

The destructive tropical cyclone – which was the strongest on record to strike the island country since 2004 – killed approximately 80 people in March.

The Category 4 cyclone prompted the Government of Madagascar to declare a national situation of emergency.

Through its Madagascar subsidiary, Takasago has offered donations to those in need with the aim of contributing “fast and full recovery” of areas affected by the natural disaster.

In a statement the company said: “Takasago expresses our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by Cyclone Enawo, which has caused extensive damage to the northern area of Madagascar.”
