The wellness trend in beauty is becoming an emotive issue – literally – with several new launches at this year’s in-cosmetics beauty ingredients trade event claiming to make us feel better, either immediately or thanks to their long-term efficacy.

Some new active skin care ingredients claimed fast soothing and balancing benefits thanks to activity on the body’s endocannabinoid system. Although the most obvious raw ingredient for materials with such claims would be cannabis, regulatory hurdles mean some suppliers turned to other sources.
