New palm oil-free diol: Cosphatec launches new COSMOS and NATRUE compliant propanediol natural palm free

Published: 25-Aug-2024

The Hamburg-based raw material specialist Cosphatec is now offering a new palm oil-free raw material as a natural preservative in its portfolio

The natural raw material variant Cosphaderm® Propanediol natural palm free complements the existing diol range and offers just as many application possibilities in skin and hair care.

Cosphaderm® Propanediol natural palm free is a pure, transparent and colourless diol. Produced from the fermentation of non-GMO corn varieties, the product offers unlimited water solubility due to its polar character. This property is of great importance for its popular cosmetic use as a moisturiser and humectant. As a non-sticky alternative to glycerine, it can also be used as an emollient or solvent. At the same time, it can help protect a formulation from uncontrolled microbial growth by increasing the efficiency of the preservative system.

This product is an ideal choice for product developers and manufacturers of cosmetic formulations who want to avoid raw materials from petrochemical sources or palm oil components.

The product will be presented in France at the I feel good on Cosphatec's booth 301 and in Germany at the SEPAWA in Berlin (25 - 27 October) at the Cosphatec company stand C415/416. Interested parties can get advice from the technical experts and familiarise themselves with the entire product portfolio.
