Macrocyclic fragrance materials pose no environmental risk

RIFM finds materials safe at current volumes of use

The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials Inc has published an ecological risk assessment for macrocyclic fragrance materials, widely used in cosmetics, personal care and household products. The article, Macrocyclic fragrance materials – A screening-level environmental assessment using chemical categorization, published in Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, determined that the materials, at current volumes of use, do not pose a risk to the environment.
