Innovations in sustainability for cosmetics and packaging were highlighted at the 47th Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna (4-7 April), in Italy. From natural, innovative materials to using traditional materials specifically designed to protect sustainable and organic products, Cosmoprof and its related Cosmopack exhibition emphasised the latest in cosmetics and personal care innovations, and offered a look at trends to come in 2015.

Promoting a more natural, ecological idea of beauty – from the choice of raw ingredients and more eco-friendly production processes to eco-friendly packaging solutions – was a constant throughout Cosmoprof 2014, which designated one of its biggest and busiest pavilions the Green Pavilion for natural and organic products.

This theme was also omnipresent at Cosmopack, with more exhibitors than ever before showcasing sustainable, eco-friendly packaging solutions, among them Albéa’s EZ’R, a patented foam technology allowing a one-hand squeeze on an upside down bottle that reduces water consumption by up to 22% compared with liquid soap and cuts packaging size by up to 50%.
