The 8,000sqm sustainable space is set to open in January next year

Knoll Packaging is set to open a fully-owned and operated factory in the Philippines.

Due to open in January 2023, the facility features a sustainable design and is anticipated to position Knoll for expansion.

The 8,000sqm space has a full rooftop solar array, rainwater collection for re-use and a low carbon footprint.

The factory, located close to Manila Port, is in a duty-free trade zone which is zero VAT for import and exports.

The Philippines factory will also feature the Syosset, New York-based packaging supplier’s proprietary custom-built machinery, said to be designed for cost efficiency and high quality.

“This project is a continuation of our regionalisation initiatives globally, gives us opportunities for cost containment, and full control of employee engagement in Asia, which is high on our priority list and a core part of our DNA,” said Jeremy Cohen, President and CEO of Knoll Packaging.

“With our automation and continued innovation this will establish our position for growth globally well into the future.”
