ISP and Vivimed announce manufacturing alliance

Supplier to add Vivimed sun protection products to its portfolio


Speciality chemicals supplier International Specialty Products Inc (ISP corp) is to enter into a manufacturing alliance with India’s Vivimed Labs Ltd. The move will see the companies work together to optimise their UV absorber manufacturing assets and jointly market certain products used in UVA and UVB protection sprays and lotions.

ISP says it will add Vivimed manufactured UV absorbers to its sun care portfolio from October this year.

According to Robert Frick, ISP’s senior vp, supply chain, the time is right for ISP to partner with a manufacturer of UV actives with production assets in India. “We are better positioned to supply long established sunscreen technologies to customers and at the same time produce ample supplies of our flagship technologies marketed under the Escalol trade name,” he added.
