IFF backs Aryballe’s ‘digital nose’ technology

The French olfaction software company develops technology for portable, universal odour detection sensors

Global flavours and fragrances firm IFF has announced a collaboration with digital olfactory software company Aryballe.

The partnership seeks to develop Aryballe’s ‘digital nose’ applications and capabilities.

Specifically, it will focus on improving its odour sensing platform and quality control applications in food, fragrance and cosmetics.

IFF Chairman and CEO Andreas Fibig said: “Our passion for pioneering firsts us uniquely aligned with Aryballe’s approach to technology.

“We see exciting potentials for digital scent platforms across our business and look forward to exploring the many possibilities that this device creates for us and our customers.”

Meanwhile, Sam Guilaumeì Aryballe’s CEO added: “Our partnership with IFF will enable us to accelerate our technology’s development into miniature, affordable olfaction sensors that meet the needs of their unique markets.”

Aryballe is set to showcase its products during the Consumer Electronics Show, ending tomorrow, in Las Vegas, US.
